I didn't take a straight line to get here. I took the scenic route through three careers and a whole lot of "why the hell isn't this working for me" before I figured out that I wasn't the problem. I was just trying to fit myself into systems designed for someone else entirely.

When I finally stopped trying to do it the "right" way and started building a business that actually fit my brain and lifestyle, everything changed. Not overnight. Not perfectly. But I found my footing. Less chaos, less overwhelm, more flow. More joy. And I've spent every day since helping other people find that same peace in their business.
What's with the cookie?
A system is like baking a cookie.
You need the tools, a recipe, and a bit of action to make it happen. But, it doesn't have to be perfect. You're not always going to make a perfect cookie. Ugly cookies can still taste amazing, and pretty-good cookies can still satisfy a craving.
For the last few years, I've been trying to create the perfect, systems-y branding. I wanted to look like an expert, a professional. It wasn't until I created a joke logo with a cute chicken that I realized what my business was missing... the joy.
Cookies are one of my favorite things in the world. I love to buy them from small businesses and hunt out the best cookies at farmers' markets. Also, they make a great analogy for systems.
I didn't give up my engineering career to become more professional. I gave it up for more freedom and to find more of my true self.

A bit about me...
Here's the thing: I wasn't born a systems person. I build systems because I have no other choice.

I accidentally fell madly in love and married into a family of eight kids, six of whom live with us, all of whom have trauma and are neurospicy.

I have aphantasia, which means I literally cannot picture things in my mind, and have a memory so unreliable that if I don't write everything down, it's gone forever.

I have late-diagnosed high-functioning autism with sensory sensitivity, and I'm still figuring out how to get through a regular day without getting overstimulated.

I overplan every thought and hyperfixate on bizarre things, like the entire 1996 climbing season on Mt. Everest, which is massively counterproductive.
My systems don't just have to work on my best days. They have to work on my worst ones too. The overwhelmed days. The shitty days. The days where the house is chaos and my brain won't cooperate and I still have a business to run.
So trust me when I say that if simple systems work for me, they'll work for you too.
